The Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo (ICB-USP) is a global reference in basic and translational research. High quality research projects with deep social impact in human and animal health are developed in its more than 150 laboratories. ICB has scientific initiation (undergraduate research) and postdoctoral programs, in addition to encouraging and atracting postdoctoral researchers, young investigators, visiting researchers and volunteer colaborators from Brazilian and international institutions.  

ICB Professors coordinate 7 Research Support Centers in USP. 56% of its faculty of 160 Professors have productivity grants from the main federal research support agency (CNPq). The average h-index is above 10 by professor and scientific productivity is around 2.7 works by professor per year in indexed journals; 85% of our annual production is published in journals with impact factor above 2 and 31% with IF above 4.
