2 Technician positions at University of São Paulo

We are inviting application for two FAPESP-funded technical positions to support a collaborative project between Prof Marko Hyvönen and Prof Andrea Balan, at the Department of Microbiology, University of São Paulo. The two positions are at TT-4 and TT-5 level.

 

For the TT-4 position we are looking for candidates who have experience in biochemical work, ideally in structural biology laboratory, in molecular cloning, in protein expression and purification and in biophysical characterisation of proteins. The postholder will be also in charge of general maintenance of the lab, in procuring and ordering consumables and equipment, maintenance of commons stocks and supporting postdoctoral researchers in their projects.

 

For the TT-5 position we a looking for candidates with expertise in protein biochemistry and biophysical characterisation of proteins and their interactions. The postholder will have two main responsibilities. Firstly, they will be in charge of a Nanotemper Prometheus instrument for protein stability measurement, establishing standard operating procedures, developing new methods and providing support for users of this multiuser instrument. Secondly, the postholder will be establishing University of São Paulo hub for Reclone network, to facilitate open bioeconomy through production of key molecular biology enzymes locally, distribution of these enzymes and related constructs and by providing training.

 

We are looking for candidates who are driven and independent, with collaborative mindset, keenness to learn and good organisational skills. You must also be comfortable with working in English.
