CEUA is an ethics board subjected to the Congregation of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, which aims to analyze and qualify the ethical aspects of the educational and research activities involving animals at the Institute.
CEUA is responsible for following and applying norms and regulations regarding the use of animals in educational and research activities; notably, Federal Law 11.794, which establishes the procedures for scientific use of animals, and State Law 11.977, which institutes the Animal Protection Code of the State of São Paulo.
