Resumo: O objetivo é o estudo da replicação viral através da análise da expressão gênica e da interação entre proteínas virais e celulares. O grupo utiliza, como ferramentas além dos métodos convencionais, vetores virais, genética reversa, proteômica e biologia estrutural. Os objetos de estudo têm sido as proteínas envolvidas na replicação e montagem do Vírus Sincicial Respiratório Humano (HRSV). O grupo visa obter dados para aprofundar o entendimento da replicação do HRSV, e outros vírus com genoma de RNA, e determinar novos alvos para intervenção terapêutica.
Abstract: The objective is the study of viral replication through gene expression and analysis of the interaction between viral and cellular proteins. The group uses as tools, in addition to the conventional methods, viral vectors, reverse genetics, proteomics and structural biology. The objects of study have been the proteins involved in replication and assembly of Human Respiratory Syncytial Virus (HRSV). The group aims to obtain data to deepen the understanding of the replication of HRSV, and other viruses with RNA genomes, and determine new targets for therapeutic intervention.
