Resumo: A pesquisa em nosso laboratório se dedica ao estudo das relações entre o sistema imune e as neoplasias, tanto em pacientes humanos quanto em modelos experimentais de tumores. Temos estudado alterações funcionais de diferentes populações celulares do sistema imune, incluindo linfócitos T e B, macrófagos e células dendríticas em pacientes portadores de diferentes neoplasias. Ao mesmo tempo, temos procurado desenvolver abordagens imunoterapêuticas para o câncer baseadas nas células dendríticas e identificar fatores preditivos de resposta às mesmas.
Abstract: Our research is dedicated to the study of the link between the immune system and neoplasms, both in human patients and in experimental models of tumors. We have studied functional changes in different cell populations of the immune system, including T and B lymphocytes, macrophages and dendritic cells in patients with different neoplasms. At the same time, we have sought to develop immunotherapeutic approaches to cancer based on dendritic cells and to identify predictive factors for response to them.
